USAID HS-STAR project tangibly supports the Ministry of Health in the process of modernizing the emergency care service in Armenia. In particular, in 2012 a new automated dispatcher system will be introduced creating emergency dispatcher centers in Yerevan and marzes,
which will be equipped with special dispatcher computer software and modern technologies corresponding to high international standards. At the end of the whole process, the Armenian emergency service will function according to its Western counterparts’ standards.
In this context, from December 2 HS-STAR project has initiated trainings for ”Ambulance” CJSC’s medical and administrative staff. The aim of the trainings is to provide corresponding knowledge and skills about new dispatcher automated system, to improve the existing skills and prepare the staff for using the upcoming system. The training is conducted by HS-STAR hired “CHS Verisel Service” organization, which was selected as a result of a tender. According to this organization’s representative, training participants are very motivated and encouraged to attend the courses. Overall, 30 administrative employees and 78 despatchers of ”Ambulance” CJSC will participate in these training courses.
The courses will last about 3 months finishing in 2012 March. HS-STAR will keep on informing on the results of the trainings and on project’s further support to the modernization process of the Armenian emergency care system.
